Academic Journals
Ecological Economics
The transdisciplinary journal of the International Society for Ecological Economics (ISEE) focuses on:
“Extending and integrating the understanding of the interfaces and interplay between "nature's household" (ecosystems) and "humanity's household" (the economy). Ecological economics is an interdisciplinary field defined by a set of concrete problems or challenges related to governing economic activity in a way that promotes human well-being, sustainability, and justice. The journal thus emphasizes critical work that draws on and integrates elements of ecological science, economics, and the analysis of values, behaviors, cultural practices, institutional structures, and societal dynamics. The journal is transdisciplinary in spirit and methodologically open, drawing on the insights offered by a variety of intellectual traditions, and appealing to a diverse readership”.
Biophysical Economics
The Biophysical Economics and Sustainability journal focuses on:
“Describing the endpoints of incremental sustainable science and quantifies the costs of implementing new methods of energy creation through the lens of Energy Return on Investment (EROI).
Examining the relationship between resource quantity and quality with markets, economic growth, urban sustainability, and technological change.
Promoting an integrated approach to the global challenges of human well-being and sustainability”.
Environmental Values
The Environmental Values journal focuses on:
“Bringing together contributions from philosophy, economics, politics, sociology, geography, anthropology, ecology and other disciplines, which relate to the present and future environment of human beings and other species. In doing so we aim to clarify the relationship between practical policy issues and more fundamental underlying principles or assumptions”.
Degrowth Journal
The Degrowth journal focuses on:
Providing “a free, open-access, international, transdisciplinary, and peer-reviewed journal that focuses on advancing the goals of degrowth. It will be published online including open issues and special-issues, and later, rolling submission.”
